We have just returned from Burgundy where we have been tasting the new 2018 vintage from barrel. More on that next week. For now, we want to tell you about a parcel of magnums of the delicious 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé from leading grower Domaine J.A. Ferret.
We made a point of calling here on Wednesday, on our way from Lyon to the Côte d'Or. Winemaker Audrey Braccini is making great strides in elevating this domaine which has been at the heart of the village of Fuissé since the middle of the 19th Century.
Expect great things to come in the next couple of years as she explores the various, complex terroirs which she now vinifies individually. In the meantime, at the domaine, we spotted an irresistible parcel of magnums which we snapped up immediately.
These can be shipped in time for Christmas (there, we said it). Great value at just £44 each in bond, rich but fresh and energetic white burgundy with the added sunshine of the Maconnais, this is perfect for parties and gatherings.
